Head of Paid Media, Lion Holdings

Fort Lauderdale, FL
Full Time
Experienced
Build the campaigns. Own the numbers. Drive the growth. We don't need someone to manage media buyers. We need someone who knows how to buy media better than anyone else in the room.

Lion Holdings is looking for a Head of Paid Media who understands that advertising is not simply about reach, impressions, or clicks. It's about acquiring customers, generating revenue, filling arenas, and creating measurable business growth.

This is a hands-on leadership role for a proven performance marketer who thrives inside advertising accounts, moves quickly, tests relentlessly, and knows how to turn significant advertising investments into profitable outcomes.

You will own the execution and performance of paid media campaigns across Meta, YouTube, Google, and other digital channels. You'll manage substantial advertising budgets, develop and launch campaigns, work directly with creative teams, and make daily decisions about where to invest, where to optimize, and when to scale.

We're looking for someone who has personally managed advertising budgets exceeding $500,000 per month, understands the economics of customer acquisition, and can demonstrate a track record of driving meaningful revenue through direct response advertising.

This is not a role for someone who has graduated out of the accounts.

You'll be expected to lead through execution, combining strategic judgment with the technical depth and urgency of an elite media buyer.

If you know how to turn advertising dollars into measurable business results and want direct ownership of performance, we want to meet you.

Job Responsibilities

Own Paid Media Execution and Performance
  • Personally build, launch, manage, and optimize campaigns across Meta, YouTube, and Google Ads, including paid social, paid search, display, and video advertising.
  • Own day-to-day performance across substantial monthly advertising budgets, making real-time decisions about campaign structure, bidding, targeting, creative, and budget allocation.
  • Develop and execute multi-channel media strategies that directly support lead generation, customer acquisition, ticket sales, product sales, and revenue growth.
  • Manage the complete campaign lifecycle, from audience research and campaign architecture through launch, optimization, scaling, and post-campaign analysis.
  • Identify underperforming investments early, reallocate budgets decisively, and scale winning campaigns without sacrificing acquisition efficiency.
  • Remain actively involved in advertising platforms, personally validating campaign performance and executing critical optimizations.

Drive Revenue and Acquisition Economics
  • Take direct accountability for Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), Marketing Efficiency Ratio (MER), Return on Ad Spend (ROAS), Cost Per Lead (CPL), and revenue attributable to paid media.
  • Manage advertising spend against defined acquisition targets, contribution economics, and revenue objectives.
  • Connect media performance to broader financial and operational outcomes, including conversion rates, average order value, customer lifetime value, and profitability.
  • Develop performance forecasts, establish acquisition benchmarks, and identify opportunities to expand profitable advertising investments.
  • Collaborate with growth, sales, finance, and business leadership to ensure paid media investment produces measurable commercial results.
  • Analyze blended marketing performance across channels, recognizing that platform-reported attribution does not always reflect actual business outcomes.

Lead Creative Testing and Conversion Optimization
  • Own the paid media creative testing agenda in partnership with copywriters, designers, video editors, and content producers.
  • Translate campaign data, audience insights, and market research into compelling creative briefs, messaging angles, and testable hypotheses.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for new advertising concepts, formats, hooks, offers, and audience combinations.
  • Build disciplined testing programs that evaluate creative effectiveness, audience response, landing page conversion, and campaign economics.
  • Rapidly identify winning creative, scale successful concepts, and replace fatigued or underperforming assets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop high-converting landing pages, video advertising, direct response copy, and conversion experiences.

Execute High-Impact Events and Product Launches
  • Develop and execute paid media campaigns supporting major conferences, live events, product launches, and high-value sales initiatives.
  • Build campaign strategies around launch calendars, ticket inventory, pricing, audience demand, and revenue milestones.
  • Manage advertising investment throughout promotional cycles, adjusting spend and creative to respond to sales velocity and conversion performance.
  • Apply direct response strategies to accelerate ticket sales, generate qualified leads, drive registrations, and convert prospects into customers.
  • Evaluate launch and event performance to identify repeatable acquisition strategies and opportunities for greater profitability.

Establish Measurement and Accountability
  • Leverage GA4, advertising platform reporting, conversion APIs, tracking pixels, UTMs, and attribution tools to maintain reliable performance measurement.
  • Develop actionable reporting that connects advertising spend to leads, customers, revenue, and profitability.
  • Monitor campaign performance daily, diagnose changes in conversion economics, and respond quickly to emerging risks or opportunities.
  • Partner with finance to manage advertising budgets, reconcile spending, and evaluate campaign-level financial performance.
  • Present clear, data-supported recommendations to executive leadership, explaining what is working, what is not, and what action should follow.
  • Continuously challenge assumptions, evaluate new channels, and identify opportunities to improve performance.

Job Requirements

Experience and Technical Expertise
  • 7+ years of experience in performance marketing, paid media buying, or direct response advertising, with a demonstrated history of managing complex, high-budget campaigns.
  • Proven, recent, hands-on experience personally managing $500,000 or more in monthly advertising spend across Meta, YouTube, and Google.
  • Demonstrated success managing and scaling multi-channel campaigns, with preference for candidates who have personally managed $1 million or more in monthly media spend.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads, including YouTube campaign execution, optimization, and reporting.
  • Proven experience driving measurable revenue through direct response advertising, lead generation, customer acquisition, or e-commerce.
  • Experience supporting major events, ticket sales, product launches, or time-sensitive promotional campaigns.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop creative testing strategies and work directly with creative teams to improve advertising performance.
  • Advanced knowledge of acquisition economics, including CAC, MER, ROAS, CPL, conversion rates, and contribution margin.
  • Strong understanding of attribution, tracking infrastructure, conversion APIs, pixels, and campaign measurement.
  • Proficiency with GA4, Google Sheets, Excel, and performance reporting or visualization tools.
  • Working knowledge of conversion optimization, landing page testing, audience segmentation, retargeting, and full-funnel marketing strategies.

Preferred Experience
  • Background in direct response marketing, high-growth consumer businesses, performance marketing agencies, or organizations managing substantial digital advertising investments.
  • Experience scaling advertising campaigns for live events, conferences, high-ticket products, or high-volume customer acquisition.
  • Familiarity with TikTok, LinkedIn, Reddit, programmatic advertising, and emerging digital acquisition channels.
  • Experience using Shopify, Looker Studio, and other marketing analytics platforms.
  • Proven ability to scale advertising investment while maintaining disciplined acquisition economics.

Who Thrives Here
We seek someone who combines technical excellence with commercial instincts and personal accountability.

  • You are an operator. You would rather open an advertising account and solve a problem than spend an hour discussing why performance declined.
  • You understand the business. You know the difference between generating inexpensive leads and acquiring profitable customers. Revenue matters more than vanity metrics.
  • You move with urgency. When performance changes, you respond. You know when to increase investment, when to change direction, and when to stop spending.
  • You are relentlessly curious. You research audiences, challenge assumptions, study competitors, and continuously test new ways to improve performance.
  • You think creatively. You don't wait for the creative team to tell you what to test. You bring insights, hypotheses, and ideas that make the advertising better.
  • You own the outcome. You take responsibility for performance, communicate directly, and make decisions based on evidence rather than instinct alone.
  • You want to build. You are energized by the opportunity to establish a high-performing internal paid media capability and demonstrate what an exceptional operator can accomplish.

What Success Looks Like
Your success will be measured by your ability to:
  • Deliver measurable, profitable customer acquisition and revenue growth.
  • Achieve or exceed agreed blended CAC and MER performance targets.
  • Scale advertising budgets while maintaining disciplined acquisition economics.
  • Increase qualified lead generation, customer conversions, and event ticket sales.
  • Build a consistent pipeline of winning creative concepts through structured experimentation.
  • Improve speed of execution and responsiveness to campaign performance.
  • Demonstrate a clear, verifiable connection between media investment and business outcomes.

Compensation: Salary + Performance-Based Bonus, Comprehensive Benefits Package. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from the range listed above.
