The Podcast Researcher gathers and verifies information for a podcast, ensuring accuracy and depth in its content. He/She researches topics, finds credible sources, checks facts-checking, and identifies potential guests. The Podcast Researcher also involves preparing research dossiers, writing interview questions, and supporting production by organizing materials and assisting with logistics.
Job Responsibilities
Conduct thorough research on topics, current events, and potential guests
Source credible information fast and verify all information for accuracy and credibility
Prepare research briefs, summaries, and guest prep documents
Identify, vet, and sometimes assist in outreach to potential guests
Maintain detailed records and organize research materials to support the production team
Sometimes analyze audience data and trends to help tailor content
Help create deeper, more engaging, and well-supported discussions
Free up hosts and producers to focus on other aspects of production
Job Requirements
3+ years of experience in journalism, political media, and long-form digital content; ideally on a fast-paced show or news outlet
Must have ability to sift through large amounts of information, analyze it, and summarize findings effectively
Must be meticulous in fact-checking and source verification
Must have familiarity with SEO trends and audience psychology
Must be able to write clear and concise research briefs and communicate effectively with the production team
Must be able to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Must have the flexibility to work on different topics and adapt to project needs
Must be proficient with common software, particularly MS Office
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, or a related field is advantageous
Compensation: Salary + Performance-Based Bonus, Comprehensive Benefits Package. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from the range listed above.
