The Director of Studio Operations is a business unit leader who reports directly to our CEO. He/she is responsible for supporting a rapidly growing media company with over 15 channels and over 3 billion views, on a mission to be an independent voice with a positive message for entrepreneurship and capitalism. The Director of Studio Operations oversees the management of studio operations, helps ideate and develop new programming, ensures compliance with federal/state/local regulations, and is a leader who engages with – and continuously builds – our community.
The Director of Studio Operations is a critical role on our executive team tasked with strategic leadership and planning, as well as maintaining key relationships with stakeholders. This role is ultimately accountable for the performance of the studio and will be measured based on the studio achieving its business objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) ranging from viewership to revenue through subscriptions and sponsorships.
Job Responsibilities
Studio Operations. Oversee the management of the studio including hiring, performance management, creating and maintaining operating budgets, establishing timelines, ensuring those timelines are met, and developing and enforcing studio policies and procedures
Program Leadership. Ensure the quality of programs and recommend timelines and resources to achieve goals; work with team to develop systems for project management
Project Management. Lead multiple departments to work towards goal; establish detailed project plans using a consistent project management framework while holding team members and project owners accountable for results
Organizational Vision. Collaborate with senior team members to develop and implement the organization's business plan to meet strategic goals; includes establishing and evaluating long-range objectives, strategies, and metrics
Program Development. Oversee the ideation, development, evaluation, and evolution of podcasts and new programming including episodical and long form projects
Partnerships. Develop and strengthen partnerships with internal stakeholders and external sponsors
Artistic Administration. Oversee all aspects of artistic administration, such as preparing and monitoring budgets, booking artists and attractions, and negotiating and administering contracts
Influence Senior Leadership. As a critical member of the executive team, collaborate with other senior leaders, and participate in executive team meetings
Company Representation. Effectively represent Valuetainment at studio and other company events
Job Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Media, Technology, Marketing, Communication, Business or similar preferred; Advanced degree a plus
7+ years of experience in studio operations, media production, and/or streaming services
5+ years of leadership experience with direct experience managing a studio with talent, producers, and editors
3+ years of podcast studio experience required
Background/Experience as a Program Manager, preferred
Proven understanding of Agile methodology
Must be able to manage, prioritize and deliver multiple tasks simultaneously
Must be results-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Must possess strong partnership and collaboration skills to drive cross-functional teams through stakeholder management
Must be able to effectively communicate (both verbal and written) across all levels and functions, including ability to influence and negotiate
Must have strong people leadership skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, engage, and coach teams while possessing the ability to host critical conversations
Must be able to collaborate with the product and technology teams to understand priorities and to drive decisions on approach, sequencing, and timing
Compensation: Salary + Performance-Based Bonus, Comprehensive Benefits Package. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from the range listed above.
