The Paralegal provides research and prepares documents for court proceedings, legal transactions, and other business legal needs. He/She drafts contracts and agreements, prepares corporate resolutions, and other comparable tasks including document preparation and review, research, investigations, fact checking, and trial preparation if necessary.
Job Responsibilities
Review, track, and monitor legislation that impacts the company’s products and/or processes
Update leadership with timely analysis and summaries of new legislation/regulations affecting the business
Assist in implementing changes to contracts to comply with legislation/regulations
Provide support related to litigation, mediation, arbitration, and responses to complaints.
Renew and maintain company licensing
Draft, file, and manage various business entity documents
Draft contracts, such as employment contracts and non-compete agreements
Assist with paperwork needed by regulatory bodies
Respond to Requests for Information
Assist with ethics and compliance programs
Perform legal research
Job Requirements
3+ years of Paralegal experience in a law firm or corporate environment
Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or related field required; Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or related field preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong attention to detail required
Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Paralegal certificate required
Compensation: Comprehensive Benefits Package. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from the range listed above.
